League 2 2014/15: Top Goalscorer

There are a whole host of strikers that can be considered for top scorer honours in League 2 this season but if Ryan Lowe repeats his fine efforts for Tranmere at Bury then he will take some stopping this season. The veteran striker landed 19 goals for relegated Tranmere last season and his move to Bury is a huge statement of intent for the Shakers this season, whose fast finishing effort – 35 points in the second half of the season – suggests that he should be able to get decent service; And he’ll need to if Bury are going to justify their pre season price although some impressive midfield singings do provide comfort a plenty.

Another player I want to support is Craig Westcarr, who scored 14 goals for Walsall last season and now arrives at a much stronger looking Portsmouth outfit than last season who boast plenty going forward and in midfield, and it would be no surprise if he was to take advantage of the drop in class and post a big effort this year at the forefront of a new promotion bid.

Northampton’s duo of Matt Tubbs and Ade Akinfnewa both made big appeal with the two have consistent scoring record that would see them on the premises, although of those two the latter makes far more appeal at a generous price, while Barry Corr may have more supply going towards him than he did last year and that makes the Southend man interesting; Plymouth’s Rueben Reid is another who will be thereabouts if repeating his efforts from last year where he scored 17 goals.
