Aviva Premiership Top Tryscorer 2014/15

It’s no surprise to see Vereniki Goneva as the top tryscorer favourite – after all, he did scored 12 tries last season and would have gone close if he hadn’t been injured the season before when he scored 5 tries in 11 games – but his claims are obvious even at a tempting 7/1. There is no shortage of talented backs in this division though, and it is a surprise to see David Strettle at 16/1. The Saracens winger hasn’t made the England squad since last June but that means he gets a constant run of games – injury allowing – for Saracens and he has scored 19 tries in the last two season, notching 11 last year after an impressive tally of 8 in a far more restricted Saracens side the season before. Injury allowing, he should play more games than more illustrious counterpart Chris Ashton and if he maintains his previous level of form then Skybet’s 16/1 is a tasty price for someone who has rewarded each/way support in the last two seasons.

Opener: Strettle dives over for his and Saracens' first try

In the top points scorer market, layers have it hard to split the three kickers who should play full seasons barring injury. George Ford is in Stuart Lancaster’s thoughts for the England squad – he may have gone on the tour to New Zealand had he not undergone shoulder surgery – and with that in mind Stephen Meyler and Nick Evans could be the two to share it out with Meyler, whose Saints are built on pack strength, preferred of the two with his wobbles off the tee a thing of the past.

1 pt each/way David Strettle each/way to be top tryscorer (16/1 Skybet)

2 pts Stephen Meyler to be top points scorer (7/2 general)
